Having more and more problems getting the top on my trailer locked. Problems started after a little old lady in a big old white Cadillac bumped into me at a red light in Oklahoma. Seems to have screwed up the alignment of the locks. Adjusted the front one but may have to drill a few new holes to realign the back lock. Temporary fix is a strap around the back of the trailer.
First stop today was the NHRA Museum, just down the road from the Pomona KOA. Since I'm an NHRA member the admission was free. Took lots of pictures. If I combine these with the ones I took at Don Garlits' Museum in Ocala, FL, I have a lot of drag racing's past covered.
Even though the distance was under 80 Km/50 mi. it took me over 3 hours to get to the end of Route 66 - I did it!! Lots of traffic lights & traffic as I passed by/through places such as Beverley Hills & Rodeo Drive.
Route 66 never went from shore to shore (Lake Michigan to Pacific Ocean) and the actual end is at Olympic & Lincoln Blvd. Not much there due to freeway having been constructed but my GPS got me there anyway. Parked and went out on Santa Monica Pier and had a root beer float with chocolate ice cream - my favourite. Went in the carousel building and saw the carousel used in the movie The Sting.
It was time to hit the road again and since I was heading west the sun was beginning to get to me. Decide to get a room just northwest of Santa Barbara and will continue up the coast tomorrow.

Yeah Ron!!! Congrats on completing Route 66 flat tire and all.
I'd like to wrap that old lady around her cadillac - how dare she bump into you.
Keep a spot warm on the back of the bike for me. I'll see you tomorrow.
Love Ruth
