Distance traveled higher than usual since I was on the Interstate for part of Texas and New Mexico due to the Old Route 66 no longer existing or not being very drivable.
Noticed big difference going from OK to TX. Within a few miles the wind dropped and the temp dropped by 3C/5F. Also land went from lush farming to mostly empty range. Change from TX to NM was also quite sudden and now faced with more changes in elevation and mountains.
Saw the leaning water tower in Britten,TX. It was built this way in case you're wondering. Also went to Cadillac Ranch, after I backtracked a few miles.
Passed the mid point of Route 66 in Adrian Texas.
Elevation here in Tucumcari New Mexico is over 4000'. Met 2 brothers at the campsite, Ken & Kirby Clark, who are from Louisiana & travelling on Harleys. Kirby gave me his CD consisting of personally written and some cover songs that I intend to convert to MP3 and listen to, while riding, on my Garmin GPS.
