Day 37 – Wed, July 9, 2008 - Eureka, CA - 0 km/0 mi – Total 10695.1 km/6684.4 mi

Originally planned to spend day exploring on Ave of the Giants but since there's a heat wave there we decided to spend a day in Eureka. We'll see more redwoods on the way back to Mendocino on Thursday. Until late afternoon when we saw blue sky, the sky was a gray colour due to forest fires in Northern California. Wandered around Eureka, especially Old Town, and saw many examples of the architecture from the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Ate at the Lost Coast Brewery and Cafe so that I could sample some more of their product. Had a bottle of Great White and Downtown Brown at the Bless My Soul Cafe last night so tried a few different ones today. Had draft today and tried the 8-Ball Stout and the Indica Pale Ale. Enjoyed both of them and wish I had time to try the others that they have.
